Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja was a hub of activities last week as more than 66 young women had the opportunity to imbibe leadership skills during the phase II of the Young Women Leadership Project supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
Kogi State polytechnic, Lokoja and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State are the two focal institutions of the project in this second phase.
The training is part of preparatory activities preparing young women for decision making roles in the future and consists of public speaking, community organizing, legislative engagement, peer mentoring and effective leadership skills.
The training was organised in collaboration with the Student Affairs Department and the Student Union Government of the institution. The next stop is Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
