The Nigerian Women Trust Fund works to bridge the generational gap in gender advocacy and women’s leadership and political participation. To do this, it enrolls young women in its mentorship program. The aim of the mentorship program is to equip them with leadership skills, bring them into the network of women’s gender advocates and spur them to participate actively in politics.

The young women are assigned to high profile female politicians, gender advocates and male gender champions. The mentees participate in training/workshops; high profile events as well as organising programmes for their mentors. They also carry out ICT research assignments, write reports for programmes and other leadership programmes.
